Screen replacement
Phone screen repair in Ipswich, at your door
A cracked screen is the repair we do most, and it is the one people put off longest. You do not need to give up an afternoon for it. We come to your house, your work or the car park at work anywhere in Ipswich, fit a new panel in the van parked outside, and you are done in about half an hour.

What causes it
Why this happens
- The drop onto a hard floor
- Corner-first onto tile or pavement is the classic. The glass takes the impact and the crack spreads from that corner. If the display still shows a picture and the touch still works, it is a straight glass-and-panel job.
- Ghost touch and dead spots
- The phone taps things you did not tap, or a strip down one side stops responding. That is the digitiser failing, usually after a knock that did not look like much at the time. It gets worse, not better.
- Black screen, phone still alive
- It rings, it vibrates, but there is nothing to see. Often the display connector has been shaken loose or the panel has failed while the rest of the phone is fine. Worth checking before you write the handset off.
- Lines, blotches and bleeding colour
- Coloured lines down the display or a spreading dark patch mean the panel itself is damaged, even if the outer glass looks intact. Pressure in a back pocket does this as often as a drop.

Questions
The things people ask
Will I lose my photos?
No. A screen replacement does not touch your storage, and we never need your passcode to do one. Your phone stays in front of you the whole time.
Will Face ID still work?
Yes, where the handset supports it. Face ID depends on parts we do not replace during a screen job, and we test it with you before we leave.
Is it worth repairing an older phone?
Sometimes not, and we will say so. If the screen costs more than the handset is worth we will tell you straight and point you at a decent second-hand replacement instead.
