Battery replacement
Phone battery replacement in Ipswich, at your door
Batteries wear out. After two or three years a phone that used to last all day is flat by the afternoon, and it starts shutting down at twenty per cent in cold weather. A new cell brings it back, and it costs a fraction of a new handset. We fit them at your door across Ipswich, usually in half an hour.

What causes it
Why this happens
- Age and charge cycles
- Every full charge wears the cell a little. Around 500 cycles — roughly two years of normal use — capacity drops far enough that you notice. This is normal, not a fault.
- Sudden shutdowns
- The phone dies at 30% and will not restart until it is plugged in. The battery can no longer deliver current under load, so the phone protects itself by switching off.
- Swelling
- A screen lifting away from the frame, or a phone that will not sit flat on a table, means the battery is swelling. Stop charging it and get it looked at. This one is genuinely worth hurrying.
- Heat
- Summers on a car dashboard and winters charging under a pillow both age a cell fast. If a phone runs hot while charging, the battery is usually why.

Questions
The things people ask
Will the phone say the battery is not genuine?
Some handsets show a service message after any battery change, including one done by the manufacturer's own network. We tell you before we start whether yours will, so it is never a surprise.
How much battery health should I expect?
A new cell should report at or near 100%. If yours reads lower than that after we have fitted it, that is covered by the warranty.
Can you do it while I am at work?
Yes. A lot of our battery jobs happen in a car park at Adastral Park or Ransomes Europark on a lunch break. Thirty minutes and it is done.
