Hadleigh is the furthest west we regularly go, and we are straight about that: it is a proper drive, so we would rather group jobs here than make the trip for a single fifteen minute clean-out. What makes it worth doing is that the alternative is worse. From Hadleigh you are looking at Ipswich or Sudbury for a repair shop, each of them a round trip, each of them wanting the handset left with them. For a bigger job — a screen, a battery, a back glass — having somebody come to the house is straightforwardly less hassle, and the call-out is still nothing.

The town itself is easy to work in. The High Street and the streets around the Guildhall have room to park, and the newer estates towards Layham Road are all driveways. We have parked on driveways, outside the Guildhall and once in the lay-by by the Railway Walk, which is fine by us as long as there is room for the van.
